Alastair Marshall is a Guitarist, Composer and Producer who lives in Derbyshire.
His musical life started in 1975 when he became a Chorister at Worcester Cathedral.
Between 1985 and 1988 he studied the Guitar & Piano at the Guildhall School of Music, London. He graduated in 1988 - GGSM Hons
His work as a Guitarist has spread across theatre, rock and pop and the recording studio.
Theatre credits include The Who's rock opera "Tommy" (Guitar 1) which ran for nearly a year from March 1996 at the Shaftesbury Theatre, West End. The production was nominated for 8 Olivier awards and received 3.
In 1999 he took over the Guitar duties for "Grease" at the Cambridge Theatre in the West End.
In 2007 he was the lead Guitarist for the world premier of the West End Musical "Desperately Seeking Susan" at the Novello Theatre featuring the music of Blondie.
In 2010 he played the Guitar for the new Musical "Flashdance" during its premier West End run at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
In 1998 he toured with Andrew Lloyd-Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar" and also played on the soundtrack of the new film version produced by RUG in 2000.
Other theatre tours include "Grease" 2003/4 (UK & Japan) and also a 2011/12 UK tour. "Cats" in 2006 & 2013/14 (UK and Europe) and "Flashdance" (World premier) in 2008.
He has played live and/or recorded with many artists which include Nerina Pallot, Steve Balsamo, Sam Mollison, Julie Hadwen (Big Sound Authority) Robert Farrell and Natascha Sohl.
In 1997 he played for Peter Andre's "Natural" UK arena tour and can be heard and seen on the "Just For You" Live at Wembley video. He also played Guitar with Peter Andre in the 1997 "Concert of Hope" at Battersea Power Station.
He has production credits on albums by Julia Hadwen and Natasha Sohl.
Currently he is working on a solo Acoustic Guitar album.
